The Project 'Dulce and the Slices of Memory' is a personal illustrated book project, and also my graduation project at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).
In the book, which tells real stories of memories about food, taken from www.lembraria.com, there is a magic space called Memories Room where all the human memories of the world are stored. The fairy Dulce, whom we accompanied during the book, was newly appointed aide to the guardian of this room, and was responsible for the part of her that keeps the memories about food. She is made of sugar and does not need to eat anything, so her new job seems like a great nonsense to her that is really interested in the future, in getting to know new places and new people.
(PT-BR) O projeto 'Dulce e as Fatias de Memória' é um projeto de livro ilustrado pessoal, sendo o meu projeto de Conclusão de Curso na Escola de Belas Artes da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).
No livro, que narra histórias reais de lembranças sobre comidas, retiradas no site www.lembraria.com, existe um espaço mágico chamado Sala de Memórias onde ficam armazenadas todas as memórias humanas do mundo. A fada Dulce, que acompanhamos durante o livro, foi recém nomeada ajudante da guardiã desta sala, e ficou responsável pela parte dela que guarda as memórias sobre comida. Ela é feita de açúcar e não precisa comer nada, então seu novo emprego parece uma grande bobagem para ela que está mesmo interessada no futuro, em conhecer novos lugares e novas pessoas.
The world in which Dulce lives is all blue. It's nice, but cold and distant. For a fairy thirsty for new adventures, it is a rather tedious environment. The Memory Room, where she works, is also all blue, has huge, almost endless shelves that store the memories of food in kitchen utensils, and Dulce thought it was pointless, that they were many old, unimportant junkies.
O mundo em que Dulce vive é todo azul. É agradável, porém frio e distante. Para uma fada sedenta por novas aventuras, é um ambiente bastante tedioso. A Sala de Memórias, onde ela trabalha, também é toda azul, possui prateleiras enormes quase sem fim que armazenam as memórias sobre comida em utensílios de cozinha, e Dulce achava que aquilo não tinha sentido, que eram muitas tralhas velhas e sem importância.
Dulce ends up falling inside one of the utensils and discovers what those objects really kept, the human memories. She begins to visit one by one and discovers several worlds with new colors and emotions.
Dulce acaba caindo dentro de um dos utensílios e descobre o que aqueles objetos realmente guardavam, as memórias humanas. Ela começa a visitar uma a uma e descobre vários mundos com novas cores e emoções.

As Dulce visits the memories, she discovers a lot about herself living a slice of memory of other people. It begins to transform, and gradually this transformation can not be contained only inside the fairy, the changes are visible and she gets little wings to fly to new adventures!
Conforme Dulce visita as memórias, ela descobre muito sobre si mesma vivendo uma fatia de memória de outras pessoas. Ela começa a se transformar, e aos poucos essa transformação não consegue ficar contida somente dentro da fadinha, as mudanças ficam visíveis, e ela ganha asas para voar para novas aventuras!
